Our operator Boreal has guidelines about children travelling alone that parents must familiarise themselves with in advance. Read more about what to do when children under 12 are travelling alone.

It’s not a requirement for bus companies to have child seats on board. To check if there are child seats on your route, please contact the bus operator at finnmark.doe@boreal.no.

You should consider bringing your own child seat suitable for the child concerned.

Bus/Flexx: If there are no passengers on board who suffer from allergies, or other conditions that prevent animals from being brought, then it will go fine. The driver has no obligation to permit the animal on board unless it’s a guide dog or police dog. The driver can demand that the animal be removed if it’s a nuisance to other passengers.

Express boat/ferry: On local and express boats, animals must be placed in cages in the designated place. Out of consideration to other passengers (allergies etc.), animals are not permitted in the passenger lounge.  Decisions about whether animals can be taken onboard and, if so, how many are at the discretion of the crew. You cannot expect to stay with the animal during the crossing for safety reasons.

If you wish to transport packages and other goods by bus or boat, please make direct contact with the bus or boat company that operates the route concerned. Snelandia/the county authority is not responsibility for this service.

In the event of delays of more than 20 minutes, you may be entitled to coverage of alternative transport, providing the delay has not been announced in advance or the reason for the delay is outside our control (e.g. weather and driving conditions).

Our operators have modern, safe and comfortable buses. Our buses and boats are normally equipped with:

• Adjustable seats with seatbelts in vehicles
• Wi-Fi on buses (but not normally on Flexx routes)
• Toilets on long distance buses and boats
• Basic refreshments on ferries and express boats (coffee, etc.)
• Fridge and coffee dispenser on long distance buses

No, there is no correspondence with the scheduled flight, except for routes marked with FB (airport bus). This applies to some routes linked to Alta Airport.

Snelandia has a bus service to/from some airports, which usually corresponds with the arrival and departure times of the flights. The flights will not normally wait for delayed transport from Snelandia, nor can we wait for delayed flights. This is related to the drivers’ working hours, as well as the service to other passengers on the route. The same also applies to transport out of Finnmark on Troms Fylkestrafikk’s routes.

Snelandia focuses on ensuring that the entire travel chain has universal design, or in other words that everyone has equal opportunity to travel regardless of disability. Nevertheless, there is sometimes a need to adapt the journey. In such cases, we recommend contacting us in advance and describing your needs. We can generally solve virtually all challenges.

At our bus stops, the driver will provide assistance to passengers who are blind/visually impaired, wheelchair users or others who require assistance owing to other disabilities.

If you are travelling by ferry and require special assistance, it’s important to contact the crew in advance. Some ferries have a designated parking space near the lift. If you wish to use this, you must notify us in advance by calling the boat directly.

All our express boats are also universally designed and, like with ferries, we would appreciate it if you could notify the vessel in advance if you have special needs for your journey.
