Ticket inspection

Remember to always have a valid ticket when travelling with Snelandia.

Having a valid ticket for the full duration of your journey is your own responsibility. If you have a discounted ticket, you must show valid ID.

The school card serves as a valid ticket for school pupils who have been granted a free school bus service.

For all ticket categories that entitle the passenger to age-specific discount or senior ticket, the passenger must show valid and approved ID.

Companions of disabled passengers who cannot travel alone travel free of charge on Snelandia’s means of transport..

Fines

Anyone who is unable to show a valid ticket or travel product in their Snelandia card or via the “Snelandia Mobillett” in the event of a ticket inspection will incur an additional charge equivalent to double the fare for the journey (minimum NOK 750).

Invalid tickets will be confiscated. In the event of forged tickets/cards, an additional charge of NOK 1,500 applies. The attempted forgery of tickets is a criminal offence pursuant to Section 403 of the Penal Code and may be reported to the Police.

Valid ID

Identification requirements apply for discounts due to age, compulsory military service, disability or as a carer. The following are accepted as valid ID:

  • Driving licence
  • Passport
  • Credit/debit card with your photo or Posten’s ID card.
  • Soldiers shall show a valid military registration book/military ID card.
  • People under the age of 67 who have been granted disability benefits shall show ID from the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV).
  • Blind passengers must show ID from the Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted (NABP).
  • Carers must show a carer’s certificate (normally issued by the municipality).

You must buy a full-price ticket if you don't have valid identification to obtain a discounted ticket. The difference will not be refunded later.
